Since some of you guys seem to still be lurking here I thought I would let you all know that I recently started playing EQ again.  I've noticed some of you have posted on this forum recently and noticed that some of you have actually logged into EQ recently and just want to let you all know that I miss guys,  I miss raiding with you guys and would love to play with you all again.

Vulak'Aerr server is still there our characters will still be there and you can access them if you are a gold subscriber to the game.  Max level on the server is now 70 and since PoP is now 3 expansions old most of the zones can be accessed without being flagged for them.  Which means it's possible for a guild to go to the elemental planes and get elemental armor and gear up for Plane of Time.  We did Luclin end game at level 65 instead of the normal with 24-30ish characters in most raids and I think it would be possible do PoP endgame at level 70 with 24-30ish characters with sufficient gear.

I would be interested in reviving RIP and trying to pick up where we left off gear up in elementals and PoTime then move on to Gates of Discord and just keep on keeping on.  I think we would only need about 12-15ish people+boxes to be successful obviously more is better but I would be willing to try with less if needed. I'd be very interested in giving this a shot and doing our best.

Anyway if anyone is interested please reply here or send a tell to Simone on Vulak'Aerr in game.

P.S. if someone could contact Cesk to lead us again or at least appoint a new leader that would help as well.

Yeah the server is still live. Low Pop but it's still there. If you are on a free account Vulak'Aerr will not appear in list.
Progression servers only available to Gold Subscribers and will only show up in list if you subscribed.

Guilds currently active on Vulak'Aerr are:

#1 Echoes of Elysium: still the top guild on the server beat all of the content then go into farm mode waiting for the next expansion.  Back in June after Cesk went inactive some of us in RIP tried to join this guild but it really didn't work out.  Only members that stuck with them for the long haul were Izie and Kukasil.

#2 League of Grand Adventures: still trying to catch up to Echoes of Elysium but still not making it there.

#3 Avengers of Kerafyrm: These guys were raiding PoP stuff so I joined this guild on Simone since there were more or less were RIP left off; however they raid at USA Prime times(like the other guilds) so it's really not good for me. Also they don't use CCH chains and try to spam heal their way through everything so they really aren't that great of a guild which is why I'm hoping to try and revive RIP.  Do have a couple of friends in the guild that might be open to joining us in RIP should we successfully revive it.

#4 The Nightwatch: Not much of a guild just a family that like to box many many characters.  6 months later they still killing Lord Inquisitor Seru and Avatar of War..... They do their own thing.

Anyway that's what's happening on the server right now.  Overall it's not too different than it was in the summer.  A couple of new expansions; can get some decent gear/augs from the Dragons of Norrath(similar to LDoN) merchants to supplement gear from the elemental planes.  Other new expansions are Gates of Discord and Omens of War(max level became 70 with this one) but most of the content for those expansions aren't very friendly to guilds that lack Planar Gear hence the need to do Plane of Time first.  I was with EoE at Gates of Discord release and being Vex Thal geared was a joke because the mobs are just that hard.

I guess some of RIP members went to another games, some back to standard servers because of the free plan, and most of the others are causual players. It's hard to awake the initial enthusiasm when TLP servers started 2 years ago.

That'll be much easier to reorganize the past RIP members that are still playing actively, then create a new guild, family type, for same goal and group together, maybe raid when enough number.

We did Luclin end game with 24iish characters in most raids so only had like 10-12 actual people in most since most characters were boxes.  I imagine with the extra 5 levels and aas we could do PoP end game with similar numbers.  Obviously more people is better but if a few us start playing again maybe others will come to.

Some of the people that quit RIP in May for Diablo 3 might be bored of Diablo by now and would be interested in coming back to EQ now that they had a break from it.

But yeah not too impressed with AoK but hanging with them for the time being since they more casual focused guild but can't make most of their raids due to time.  Like I said if you guys are interested I be willing to try and revive RIP as an Asia Pacific time raiding guild or even as a more casual focused guild if not able to raid that often.

Really miss playing EQ and had an awesome time playing you guys; sure there  were some language barrier issues and I made a few mistakes but overall I thought we had a very fun and successful guild going.

我也願意回 vulak, 但是一定要找個真的有心、有閒、不吝於幫助會眾、對eq了解深刻的、知道怎麼帶raid 的guild leader, 千萬別又再來個三分鐘熱度的，玩幾個月甚至幾天就消失、抑或是久久出現一次, 沒責任感的；這樣只會讓公會長期處於苟延殘喘的狀態。

Cesk is still leader of Reload Ing Pleasewait but he has not logged in since June 1st which is part of the reason we went inactive in the first place.  If someone is able to contact him and see if he wants to lead us again; if he does awesome if not see if he's willing to have leadership transferred to someone else.  He should be able to create a character on a free server and create a petition and say that he is unable to log into Vulak'Aerr and would like to pass guild leadership to another player.

If Cesk is unable to be contacted we could try petitioning and asking the GMs to change the leadership of the guild.  Now that Cesk has been inactive for several months the GMs would probably be willing to change it to one of the senior officers if we asked them to.

RIP has 5 Senior Officers:  Dafat(ex leader), Dafy, Liniarog, Ayushm and Maladie(Me).  So far it looks like Dafy or myself would be the best to ask GM to change it to.  Might be simplest to ask GMs to change leadership to Maladie and then I can change it to whomever we decide should be leader.

In the event that we can't contact Cesk or get the GM to change leadership we can form a new guild and name it something like Reloading Please Wait and become RPW instead of RIP and maintain the same spirit of the guild as before.

I know that I'm a foreigner to you guys and I don't know Chinese but if no one else wants to be leader I want to let guys know I'd be willing to lead you guys if you want me to. My work schedule is the same so I'll be able to make every raid as I did before.  If we get enough people and you guys want to raid 4-5 nights a week again I'm willing to put in the effort to make it happen.  If you guys prefer to take it easier this time and only raid 2-3 nights a week and do casual grouping the rest of the nights; that is fine to.  Like I said I don't know Chinese so if I am leader I will need a couple of you to help me manage the guild and help with communication; something similar to how Ayushm, Dafy and I were managing the guild when Cesk became less active.

Anyway so far it looks like we have:

1 Friend I have in AoK

I believe Komodo was friend of Acorpse so if Acorpse is playing maybe Komodo would play to.  Galangal posted in other thread that he missed EQ so maybe he and his brother would play again.  Anyway it looks we would have at least 8 or 9 people that would play with us.  If we get started again and get the word out maybe some more our friends would start playing again.  Might be possible to get a few more AoK players to join us since there seems to be several that are more active during Asian times.  Also Fippy Darkpaw server has lots of players on during Asian times but no guilds that actively raid at those times so it might be possible to get a few people from that server to reroll on Vulak'Aerr to join us.

i think not anyone to be a Leader , because make a Leader will all most Spend a lot of time on the guild , i think we no want do this , need work or need hook up girlfriend XD

like a mild or moderate guild type ~ before, we look like a hardcore type too us too heavy

we need to make sure how many people come back , this is my frist view

Don't worry Sunenc you're English is much better than my Chinese since what you are saying actually makes sense to me; the Chinese posts I actually have to run through a translator to even partially understand.

Post #9(Tiagod?) points out that we need to have a leader who is active and responsible and doesn't disappear. In post #12 Sunenc reminds me that being a leader requires a lot of time and effort and most people don't have extra time it would take to be an effective guild leader.

When Dafat quit he made Cesk the guild leader; for better or worse that's who Dafat felt was best qualified to lead us.  Cesk had a lot of experience and knowledge with the game.  Our guild was able to beat Seru, Emp, AoW, Vex Thal and Tallon Zek etc. because Cesk had did these encounters many times before and knew how to beat them.  RIP was successful at raiding because Cesk had the knowledge to help us win.  There is no doubt in my mind that Cesk is a very talented and effective raider; however he was not a very good guild leader.  I have great respect for Cesk but he wasn't a very effective guild leader mostly because he didn't have the time for it.  I think Cesk really should have appointed someone else as guild leader and remained simply as our main raid leader; a job he was very good at; becoming less and less active and eventually quitting was very bad for guild morale and led to many players quitting EQ.

There is also the long standing question of how hardcore should our guild bm and how often should we raid and how long.  When Dafat was leader our guild was raiding 6 nights a week 4+ hours a night with some of the longer raids lasting 8-9 hours. Dafat set a blistering pace that many had a hard time keeping up with but there were many in the guild that liked that pace and RIP was doing very well because of it.  However in late February Dafat decided he was going to quit EQ to go back to college and appointed Cesk to be our new leader.  When Cesk was leader we went to raiding just 4 nights(if that) a week and only 3-4 hour per raid; this was a huge change of pace for our guild and some of our more hardcore players quit or joined other guilds because of it.  This is a tough issue to address but is a issue that exists in all guilds.  Some people simple have more time to play than others and trying to a set a pace that keeps the hardcore players happy without pushing the casual players too much is a hard thing to do.  Most important thing to remember is that EverQuest is a video game and that real life is more important any game.

I think we should be fairly casual and not make them feel like they are required to join us on every raid but also welcoming all characters of sufficient level to join us on raids. When we start up again we're all going to have to level up to 70 and get new AAs etc. which will probably take a couple of weeks to see who else comes to join us.  When we have a guild going again we can then decide how often we want to raid; probably somewhere between 3-5 nights a week depending on what people want.  When we do raids I think we should try to start raid at 8:00/8:30PM China Time and ending by 12:00/12:30; this kind of schedule worked pretty well for us in the past and I think it would work well for us again.

What we do and can do as a guild will depend on how many people we have playing and how many characters we can get in a raid.  I'm going to list what I think is possible at level 70 with different amounts of characters.

With less than 18 characters: This is a very minimal number of characters but we should be able to some mini raids.

Short term:
We could kill minis in the elemental planes for loot and patterns for elemental tranquility armor quests(much better than ornate from BoT).

We could raid the new version of Veeshan's Peak that was released during Gates of Discord.  This zone has pretty good loot and shouldn't be too hard for a 2-3 group raid.

We could do some more Vex Thal(no longer needs a key) for clickies and some of the better loot.  We would have to set CoTH mages again however which would take some time.

Longer Term:  We gear up our characters to eventually try and take on some of the gods; if that goes well we could then try moving on to Plane of Time and LDoN raids but it's going to be pretty hard with small numbers even at level 70.

With 18-30 Characters: With this many people we would have a lot more options and be more effective as a raid force.

Short Term:

We should spend some time farming the Elemental Planes for loot.  At level 70 with 4 groups we should be able to down most of of the gods as we gear up and get ready for Plane of time.  Most PoP zones no longer require flags anymore however it would be beneficial to kill a lot of the flag mobs anyway since they drop good loots and give upgrades to charms.

At level 70 LDoN raids should also be doable with this many people and give us a good source of augs to apply to the loot we are getting from the elemental planes.

We should also be able to do some of the easier Omens Epic 1.5s.

Longer Term:

We'll use the loot we acquired from elementals and LDoN to prepare us for the Plane of Time.  The first couple of trips to PoTime will probably be a rough but after we get a good grove going I think we could go all of the way and beat Quarm.

With sufficient gear we should be able to complete most of the Epic 1.5s and even some of the 2.0s.

With 30+characters:  If we were raiding with 30 or more characters again we would be in good shape to being a very successful guild.

Short Term:

Farm Plane of Time, LDoN raids and complete epic 1.5s.

Long Term:

All raiding content from Plane of Time and beyond is instanced.  With sufficient people there really isn't anything or anyone to get in our way and keep us from progressing all of the way into the current content.

Today I submitted a petition on Maladie; asking if it was possible for a GM to assign guild leadership to myself. I am very interested in trying to get this guild going again and it will be much easier to do with an active guild leader. Not only is it good for morale; recent expansions have added the guild hall, guild bank and guild tribute systems so it's very important to have an active guild leader to manage those.

Anyway I'll let you guys know when I get a reply to my petition. If I become guild leader I can then assign the title to someone else our choosing if desired. Like I said before I am willing to be guild leader if you guys want me to as I have the time to put in the effort that is necessary to help rebuild the guild do my best to try and make our guild successful again.

We unfortunately no longer promote players into the leadership position of guilds, this will need to be done by the guild leader of said guild. If your guild currently has no leaders or active members to do so, if you would like to take part in a more active guild, I would suggest leaving your current guild and creating a new one. So looks like RIP will continue to Rest in Peace unless we can get a hold of Cesk. We can however create a new guild if you guys are interested. We could probably name the guild Reloading Please Wait to keep the same spirit we had before. Anyway I'm looking for feedback and suggestions. If we create a new guild I can keep Maladie in the old guild as Senior Officer to help point people to the new guild.

Creating a new guild isn't so bad just need to post in RIP guild motd that RIP is still active under a new name as well as on this forum. Like I said I don't mind keeping Maladie in old RIP as senior officer to help point people to the new guild. Also this will give us a chance to start fresh and attract new people.

I'm pretty sure we would have at least 6 people, there is you and I for sure. Roster shows Acorpse was online yesterday so I'm sure he would be on board. Posts in this thread show that Dafy and at least 2 others(I think one might be Tiagod) would be interested in joining us as well so we do have at least 6. Also we should be able to recruit some new friends as well; I already have one friend who would be interested in joining us if we could get a guild going again and it's not hard to imagine that we could get others. Also could try emailing some other inactive friends that have a known email address such as Holisongyy(his character name @hotmail.com).

Anyway I don't expect our guild to be reborn overnight; it's going to take some time but I'm willing to make the effort to try and rebuild it. The first month or so will probably be spent leveling up and recruiting old and new people; if all goes well I think we could be raiding by the end of February after the holidays.

Yeah they changed their shop system. Took me a few minutes to figure it out to. When you get to the payment screen you have to hit the "Add Payment Source" button to add your new credit card.

i can't pass brush zero dollar credit card .........

my VISA & Mmaster credit card Issuing bank organization reject this authenticate mechanism
but other account can't use same brush credit card

Yeah I see you logged in on Angmar. If you can get his account activated should also be able to use same card for other accounts. Also might try contacting your bank and let them know that you were trying to subscribe to game service based in the USA. I remember trying to order some CDs from Japan once and had to contact my bank to get the payment approved because it was a purchase based in Tokyo.

If you are still having issues getting the other accounts activated you can still join me on Angmar until you get the issues solved. We can do some LDoN adventures together or something and have a chance to talk in real time on what we want to do about with the guild.

Did a raid of Lord Mithaniel Marr with AoK yesterday. We wiped and they still refused my suggestion to use a CCH for second try so we wiped again. On second try I kept recasting Bulwark of Vie, Elixir and Divine Intervention and a bunch of fast heals with Maladie since only 1 of the other 5 clerics in the raid actually focused on healing Simone. I managed to stay alive until stonewall disc ran out soon after which Maladie ran out of mana then Simone died and raid wiped shortly after.

Between the 4 saves by DI and the actual healing from Maladie and I was doing about half of the healing by myself. Spam healing doesn't work. Lord Mithaniel Marr isn't even that hard of a mob; with46 characters in the raid we should have beat him easily but leadership of guild refuses to use CCH so we fail. RIP beat several mobs that were harder with less people and more boxes. Aten Ha Ra and Vex thal blobs do more DPS than Mithaniel; Aow and Emp do more than twice the DPS of Marr.

After spending some time in some other guilds in this server I can say without out a doubt that RIP had the best players of any guild on the server which is why I'm here trying to bring us back. You guys were awesome and I would love to group and raid with you all again.

Sunenc when I talked to you in game you game other day you gave me more details about your credit card issue. I think the problem you having is that you are hitting the wrong button. When you go to change your credit card details you need to hit "ADD PAYMENT SOURCE".

Do not hit update as it will only allow you to make changes to the card you currently use for the account.

Alright we were able to get guild leadership worked out. As of yesterday I am officially leader of Reload Ing Pleasewait. Now that we solved the inactive leader issue I hope we'll be able to make some progress again and recruit new friends.
